RESEC Events Spring/Summer 2015
The 7th Annual RESEC Cymru Seminar took place on the 6th March 2015 jointly sponsored by The Dementia Development Centre at Bangor University and RESEC. Chaired by Prof Bob Woods it went well as usual, attracting a full house.
This was the second event that Rhodri had chaired for us and it was opened by Rhun ap Iorweth Anglesey’s Assembly member and attended by other Assembly members from Labour and the Conservatives as well as an excellent cross section of those involved in social care and health from all the sectors…including carers, practitioners, the Inspectorate and Care Forum Wales.
The first week in March 2015 also saw Trustees Simon, Bleddyn. Bhavna and Philip come together in Oxford for an excellent set of two presentations led by Green Templeton College – University of Oxford. Other RESEC local supporters made up a good proportion of the 45 strong audience
A RESEC ‘Talking heads” round table discussion with a social care / health futures focus will be held on Thursday 9th April at the Civic Centre Board Room at Salford Metro Council. Run in partnership with the Legacy Social Enterprise. With greater Manchester taking on special developed powers, this should be a real treat. There are 28 places available.
Wednesday 29th April will see the relaunch of RESEC Alba / Scotland at the Scottish Caring and Dementia Congress, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh run by Trustee Dr Richard Hawkins, founder of Caring Times and the Journal of Dementia Care. The event attracts 400 plus delegates and Trustees Richard,
Maura and Bhavna will be speaking at a lunch time re- launch.
Devon and Cornwall will be active again in late Spring with Trustees Richard, David P and David C linking with our local groups.
A RESEC ” Talking Heads ” round table will be held on Friday 12th June at the House of Lords hosted by RESEC Lords Ambassador, Baroness Ruth Henig CBE
